What Are Venture Capital Investment Funds (VCIF)?

Venture Capital Investment Funds (VCIFs) are financial instruments aimed at investing in young companies that are innovative and have high growth potential. These funds provide the capital needed for startups to develop new products and services to bring to the market. They typically focus on business ideas that carry significant risk and cannot be supported by traditional bank financing but offer substantial rewards. Venture capital investments help entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses while also boosting competition in the industry, thereby contributing to economic development.

The Venture Capital Association (GİSED) is an independent organization established to support the development of the venture capital investment funds ecosystem in Turkey. GİSED brings together venture capital stakeholders who support innovative ideas, contribute to economic growth, and aim for sustainable development.

Our goal is to facilitate knowledge sharing needed by the venture capital world, provide guidance in regulatory developments, and lead strategies that enhance the sector’s global competitiveness. As GİSED, we contribute to Turkey’s innovation-driven growth by creating a broad collaboration network spanning entrepreneurs, investors, academic communities, and public institutions.

By bridging entrepreneurs, investors, and other ecosystem stakeholders, we aim to create an informative, guiding, and supportive platform.

Our Goals

To support the growth of high-performance, scalable, innovative, and competitive startups, and to promote their development in accordance with international management principles.

To ensure the efficient use of resources by establishing an effective distribution mechanism.

To lead collaboration efforts and create a favorable investment environment to facilitate global venture capital funds investing in Turkey.

To play an active role in developing the investment ecosystem and business models for ventures based on innovative technologies.

To establish and continuously update the knowledge, documentation, and cultural infrastructure covering managerial and technical processes in order to facilitate the integration of the investment ecosystem with international capital funds.

To refer companies seeking to invest or receive investment to organizations that provide consultancy and mentorship services, enabling them to manage the investment process effectively.

To support the increase and growth of venture capital fund investments and the expansion of global co-investment opportunities; and to facilitate cooperation among relevant institutions and organizations in improving the legal and tax infrastructure.

To support the establishment of venture development, acceleration, and incubation centers by global companies that will contribute to the national economy; and to enhance related processes such as events, investment meetings, reports, and printed and digital publications accordingly.
